COMFORTABLE & AFFORDABLE
ON/OFF ROAD MOTORCYCLE TOURS

Small Groups
Our small groups of a maximum of 8 motorcycles contributes greatly to conservation, as fewer people in an area means less impact on the environment. The best way to look at it is Go-Mad clients travel as a party of friends rather than a huge group of tourists, giving you a direct, personal experience and more flexibility on your holiday.
Participation
We found over the years that getting stuck in is the easiest way to get to know your fellow travellers, therefore helping each other climb mountain passes, keeping your bike clean and maintained or helping load and off load bikes from the support vehicle, are all part of the fun - so join in and enjoy the adventure.

Welcome to our world down south in sunny Africa. We are a team of passionate bike riders who have been riding motorcycles throughout the southern parts of Africa since our teen days. With this experience, together with our careers in working and owning a successful African overland adventure company spanning fifteen years, we can assure you that if you enjoy riding motorbikes, then riding with us is your best choice. With Go-Mad you don't have to be a professional rider, but a certain amount of experience would be an advantage, plus a valid bike licence from your home country.

With our passion and knowledge we have set up some programs in this brochure for you and your mates, who like us, enjoy a good holiday break which is not too hard yet far from soft. The routes have the value of amazing sights and excellent riding from rugged mountains to tranquil scenic dirt and tar roads. Added to this you can enjoy getting out of the daily rut we all tend to fall into and have a holiday that is unique.

Being a well established tour operator we have everything organised for you from the bikes, to the accommodation, meals, backup service and of course the exciting routes, saving you the stress of finding like minded people to ride with and deciding where to go. Riders who have travelled these routes with us in the past have highly recommended the rides and routes we have to offer and have commended our safety first approach for all riders, making sure we all stay on our machines as a team and ensuring caution in certain areas. All team riders are asked to help out one another, keeping alive the good biker spirit, and giving us all a sense of achievement each day. The motto is “It's not a race but a good mildly challenging holiday break.”

With finding that a lot of riders from abroad want to join our trips but are unable to bring their bikes over or find one to use, we have sourced the electric start Kawasaki KLR 650 for these adventures which can be hired by clients to join our trips only. This motorbike has proven to be the most hardy, practical, and well suited to our climate and terrain. It is lighter and easier to handle than other motorbikes in its class and performs as well, if not better, than most.

In this website, that's if you interested in riding of course, we have laid out the routes in the hope that it can answer all your questions, and give you the confidence to take the challenge and join us on an extreme adventure holiday, riding into the unknown.

Personal Insurance
Go-Mad Enduro Adventure carries standard passenger liability insurance on land arrangements and the necessary operating permits required.
You will need your own personal insurance, covering your personal belongings and medical cover.
If you are hiring a motorcycle, an access deposit is required from you prior to departure which is refundable after the tour.
In case of an emergency we require a copy of your insurance prior to departure to avoid delays.
The tours are not of a dangerous nature, these requirements are taken for precaution purposes

Safety Equipment
With clients sizes and personal preferences varying greatly we do not supply any facilities to hire or loan riding safety gear. It is therefore required that you supply your own safety equipment. i.e. helmet, gloves or that of what you wish to use.

If you do not have safety gear, there are motorcycle shops at both departure cities who can sell you gear new or second hand (if available) with the option of them buying it back on completion of the tour.

Go-Mad offers all our clients free storage facilities for your equipment, pre and post tour. We can also arrange to relocate your gear to any destination at your cost using courier companies if required.

Your Support Vehicle
All tours have a support vehicle with an experienced mechanic/driver who accompanies us whilst we ride. We carry a spare motorcycle on each tour in the event of a breakdown, but our onsite mechanic carries the tools required for those unwanted failures or punctures.

Luggage space is limited thus it is recommended to bring a small backpack and a day bag only.

Licence to Ride
To ride with our tour whether using your own motorcycle or a hired one, you are required by law to have a valid licence to operate the class of the machinery on public roads. If your licence is not in English you then require an international drivers licence to legally ride in South Africa.

Your Own Motorcycle
If you have your own bike you pay the tour cost only and are responsible for your own fuel, tolls, maintenance and insurance as well as ensuring it is street legal and has the ability to operate through dirt road conditions with suitable trail tyres. We will not allow any bike under 250cc to join the tour, as it will not be suited. You must get the bike to and from the starting point of the tour and ensure you have the correct paperwork for crossing borders if needed.

The Hired Motorcycle
Go-Mad has a fleet of motorbikes, which are available for hire to all clients. The KLR650cc has a proven track record of being reliable with ample power and a steady cruising speed of 140km/h. Weighing only 180kg it is easy to handle and control on hill climbs and general riding. All our Kawasaki 650's are late models, all within the manufacturers warranty as we only operate them to a maximum of one year, giving you hassle free riding as the bikes are practically new at any given time.

Each tour shows the cost of the motorbike hire. The rates do not include your fuel unless stated. A refundable deposit will be charged for the insurance excess which is paid prior the tour for insurance purposes in the event of loss or damage to your hired motorcycle and any fines you may incur during the hire. This deposit is refunded back to you at the end of the tour.
